The Spring of Harod where Gideon chose his army for battle against the Midianites. If you put your face to the water and slurped "like a dog" you were out. If you kept your head up and watched your surroundings while using your hands to bring water to your mouth, you were in. Out of 10,000 men, only 300 qualified! (Judges 7)
Sachne, an oasis at the foot of Mount Gilboa. The water is crystal clear and stays 82 degrees Fahrenheit all year round. Considered by many to be the Garden of Eden!
Megiddo, a city with 25 layers of civilization. When a city was destroyed, the new owners just built on top of it! Here is a Sacrificial Altar from 2700 BC.
King Ahab's Tunnel built in 800 BC.
King Ahab's Tunnel with spooky lighting!
Caesaria, built by King Herod "Roman City" style to honor Caesar. It was the home of Cornelias (the first non-Jewish convert to Christianity). Here is where Paul departed for a mission to Crete and where he spent two years in prison. Caesaria was the capitol of Israel from 70-670 AD.
This amphitheater is still in use today!
View from top of amphitheater. See what's left of King Herod's artificial harbor.
Jason wishing he could inner tube down the nine mile aqueduct that used to carry water from Mt Carmel!
Me too!
Wall built by the Crusaders. Notice the opposing wall, forcing invaders to climb down then back up.
