Today we went to a museum showing actual pieces of the Dead Sea Scrolls (no photos allowed). So far, they have found 60,000 fragments, including the complete Book of Isaiah. It was not on display, but a replica was!
A model of Jerusalem before the Second Temple was destroyed in 70 AD (Scale 50:1). At the top of the picture is the Temple Mount, with the Western Wall facing you. Check out "Fortress Antonio" on the left side of the Temple Mount. It turned out to be the weak link in attacking the Temple!
A very interesting piece of art. Comments?
We re-enacted the Last Supper. The host treated us as if we were entering a home 2000 years ago. She demonstrated (on us) how the Disciples were greeted, seated, entertained, and fed. Very enlightening! Very yummy! Normally you ate while reclining (like I'm demonstrating!). They decided to let us sit up!
A stop at the Mall. See Pizza Hut in Hebrew! Nope, I didn't get to eat any, I was concentrating on local foods!
